Welcome to S.H.A.G.(Southeastern
Highland Athletic Group)! I’m glad that you
have
decided to come and check us out. Shag is an idea that was born from
being a
former Highland
Athlete and the camaraderie that is shown
by this close knit group of new and seasoned athletes. I
have one goal for this fledgling
organization, and that is, any
athlete that wants to play should play! The athlete that comes to
play at
an S.H.A.G. sponsored game should be worried about one thing and one
thing
only; “Am I going to throw better than the last time I threw?”
Here are some of the ideas that I
have in mind for S.H.A.G. and the athletes that decide that they wish
to join.
- The athlete and his
immediate family will get into an S.H.A.G. sponsored game at no charge.
- The athlete will
receive discounted room rates at the hotel chosen to be the athletic
hotel.
- Lunch will be
provided at all S.H.A.G. events
- S.H.A.G will seek
sponsors for the organization as a whole
- S.H.A.G. will also
seek out sponsor for each event
- Emailed newsletter
on the happenings from the world of Highland Athletics.
- Monies from the
various sponsors will be directed back into the benefits of being a
S.H.A.G. member
- T-Shirts
- Hotel Discounts
- Year end party for
S.H.A.G. members and their families
- Discounts on
supplements to S.H.A.G. members only
- Creation of a
membership card to be shown at games and to the participating sponsor
for discounts
These are the goals for S.H.A.G.
There will also be a group of folks working behind the scenes to help
make this
organization the best it can possibly be! My name is on the dotted line
of this
organization and I want everyone, athlete and family member, to have a
good
time when they come to an S.H.A.G. event! I have many people to thank
for
introducing me to this sport, and this organization is just a
continuation of
the family that I was first brought into so many years ago. Thank-you

fun!!
